Summary:

"It seems that Master Kenobi has been in contact with a certain Senator who is known to be among the leaders of this cabal. Apparently, very close contact. The rumor is that he was seen leaving this Senator's residence this very morning, at an...unseemly hour." Palpatine's voice oozes concern but his eyes gleam sharply.

Anakin's barely aware of the strategic micro-second of a pause, though; the phrases close contact and unseemly hour rebounding around in his head. Who? Who could it be that Obi-Wan was having assignations with? Why didn't he know about this?

Or,

Anakin's jealousy leads to the start of something new between him and Obi-Wan and a lot of frank discussions about things they should have talked about but didn't in canon.

Direct links to chapters:
1: Palpatine hints that Obi-Wan is sleeping with a Senator and Anakin jumps to conclusions (but not the one Palpatine had been hoping for)
2: The morning after: In which Obi-Wan and Anakin have a serious conversation...in bed.
3. In which Obi-Wan almost finds out about Anakin and Padme and Anakin plans a date to distract him.
4. Snippets of a date between Jedi.
5. Things finally come to a head and Anakin and Obi-Wan work some things out.
6. Angsty thoughts, arguments about the Code, doings things with the Force that shouldn't be possible, teasing Obi-Wan, threatening a Senator, and engaging in PDA with his wife: a morning in the life of Anakin Skywalker (he's a really busy guy, okay).
7. Lots of fluff, some backstory, and an appearance by Palpatine (though Anakin is just hanging out on cloud 9).
8. In which there is fluff, stress, and sap between our two couples. (You all can probably guess who's mostly responsible for what.) :D
9. In which there is lots of cuddling between our two favorite Jedi and other Jedi start making appearances.
10. Bant gets roped into Obi-Wan's plan and Obi-Wan gets worked up over a meeting with the Chancellor.

I just want to say that it is hilarious that it seems like just about every Shinigami in Soul Society probably knows about Renji's angsty undying love for Rukia and have been watching this tragic saga unfold over the past couple of decades. And it is so cute that they're all rooting for Renji, in their own not-so-sympathetic ways. They're just like, go Renji! It doesn't matter that she's been adopted into an aristocratic family. Go talk to her, you idiot!

But on a more serious note, I ended up skipping over most of the Bount episodes because soul-sucking vampires just aren't that interesting but I love how they got all reflective in this episode and brought things back to how all of this started in the first place.

As much as I love the Renji/Rukia thing, though, I also really love the Ichigo/Rukia potential and I've never in all the years I've watched the anime and read the manga been able to settle on one ship. And I can't ship an OT3 here either because I just don't really see Ichigo/Renji. So...I'm stuck with a very unsatisfying love triangle but I want to wait until I've seen more of the recent episdoes to write more about that.
This episode legit had me tearing up for a couple of minutes. Renji and Rukia's story is just so tragic. Like, epic but tragic. He loves her so so much and for so long and he's always just wanted what he thought would make her happy. And then when she needed saving, he realized he wasn't good enough to do it himself. So for love of her, he asked the guy who just beat him in battle and who he probably thinks he'll lose her to to save her life. Renji just breaks my heart. I think he'd happily stay in the background of her life thinking that she could do so much better than him but I just want him to step up and say something.

But the sad thing is I'm not sure she sees him (yet) as anything more than her best friend and brother.

Ugh, alright, back to watching. I have quite a ways to go before I get to the episodes I haven't seen yet but I doubt this show is going to resolve any of the hundreds of love triangles it's created. Is Bleach an ongoing show or did it wrap up? I don't even know.

Edit: Also, how is it that spirits can die in Rukongai? What happens when they die? Are they reborn on Earth?

Edit #2: Also, I didn't realize this the first time I had seen it but Rukia being adopted into the Kuchiki family and graduating immediately from the Academy - did she ever complete her training under private tutelage? Or did they just throw her into the squad and let her sink or swim? She must have missed out on a lot of the education that the others got.
On the one hand, I really want to take part in some writing challenges. I thought pretty hard (okay, not really) about doing the 52 short stories in 52 weeks one but then I looked at the prompts and I realized I couldn't write those prompts. Well, alright, the whole point of a writing challenge is to just write. And to have something to write about. But the thing is that I already have fic ideas that I really want to work on and I kind of hated the idea of spending time writing other stuff when I should probably use that time to actually write out the stories I've been wanting to for at least a year. And yet, those stories won't come. Why.

Okay, I think maybe what I'll try to do is this: one short story per month. Any length, even just a 100-word snippet. Maybe even just a small scene or a couple of lines from one of the story ideas I have. Anything. As long as I write something. Because I do think the only way I'll get better at writing is if I keep practicing. So, that's gonna be my writing/fandon goal this year. Write something every month.

...and it's already almost the end of the first month. *SIGH*

Captain America: Civil War is gonna be so crowded. How are they gonna introduce Black Panther and explain his presence? How are they gonna introduce Spiderman and explain his presence? At least Ant-Man’s movie is already out but how are they tying him in with the others? Are all of them just suddenly going to be there with friendships and alliances formed off-screen? Are they gonna come out of the woodwork when the registration act is announced and pick sides?

What about the existing characters who have barely gotten any screen time for any real character development? Rhodey? Sam? Vision? Wanda? Clint? (Alright, maybe Clint doesn’t quite belong there but I think that of all the Avengers, he’s gotten the least amount of screen time.)

I’m just worried that they won’t be able to juggle all these characters. Hell, there’s gonna be more people here than in AOU and AOU was a mess because it had way too many people and way too many things going on.

Why didn’t they just make this an Avengers movie and have the next Cap movie focus on finding Bucky and dealing with the consequences of the Winter Soldier?

I see this pretty much everywhere and honestly, I don’t really understand it. Because while yes, technically, if you’re going by just their date of birth, then they are 95 and 98, respectively. But it’s not like they lived out all 90-something years of their lives.

Steve was in his 20s when he hit the ice and was frozen. For the next 70 years, he was in stasis. His body didn’t age, his brain wasn’t processing new memories, he wasn’t gaining any life experience. Essentially, time stopped for him and restarted when he was defrosted. So he’s not a 95-year-old man in a 20-something year old body. He’s just a 20-something-year-old man who’s been displaced in time.

Bucky’s a bit more difficult because while he was also in his 20s or so when he fell and Hydra took him, we don’t know how long they may have kept him awake before putting him in cryo. He must have at least been awake long enough for them to put the arm on him and for him to learn how to use it. And then throughout the years, he was woken periodically for probably a few days up to a few weeks; however long it took him to complete his missions. So by now, he’s probably aged a couple of years from when he had fallen but it’s still not like he lived (and aged) through all the years between 1945 and 2015. It’s also questionable how much life experience he would have gotten from the times when he was awake.

Anyway, so basically, I don’t really get why everyone (I don’t mean just fans, I mean canon too) treats Steve and Bucky like they’re super old. They’re just time-displaced.

I’ve also always been really confused as to why exactly Steve’s considered the leader of the Avengers (in the MCU verse, anyway) when he’s really the youngest member going by number of years lived. Unless it’s that he’s the only one who’s had military training and has led a unit so he’s the only one with teamwork and leadership experience under his belt while everyone else is used to working alone or with just one other person?

This is a repost of a fic I started writing almost a year and a half ago and then kinda sorta left to languish (I'm sorry!). But in honor of Avengers: Age of Ultron, I've decided to revive it and try to finish it. The first three parts are the original parts (with just a few tiny grammatical fixes like with spacing and spelling) so the new stuff will begin with Chapter 4. New chapters will be posted only to AO3 because I know myself well enough to know that I'll never be able to keep up with alerting people to new chapters here and on Tumblr too.

I'm so bad at managing multiple accounts, hah, but here are my zombie fics. The first part of the first fic (i.e., the only one I had intended to write at all until it multiplied like zombies are wont to do) was written in just a couple of hours on the morning after Halloween. It was seriously the fastest I had ever written and posted anything.

Series: Part 1 of Zombie Take-Over
Summary:

"Nice costume, mate, but you're a bit late for Halloween, aren't you?"

The zombie - man - scowled and lifted a bag and shook it; Liam could hear the rattle of presumably a full bag of candy. "Already got tons here, don't I? You knock on people's doors and all they want to do is shove sugary sweets at you and tell you to go away. I need your help."

"Oh, okay. Did your car break down? You need to call for a lift or something?" But as he peered around the other man, Liam could see that the street was empty.

"No. I wish it was that simple. I woke up in the graveyard last night. I think I'm a zombie."

-----------------
Or,

Liam wakes up the morning after Halloween to find a zombie knocking on his door. Just a cute little ficlet.

Update 12/4/2014: Added a new chapter! I'm working on a companion piece which will be posted separately but at this point, I don't anticipate adding any more to this one so I'm calling it completed.

Update 1/17/2015: Now part of a series! Check out the companion fic/sequel - The Life and Times of Zayn the Zombie.

Sequel is under the cut )
Short version: I loved it. Really like where they decided to go with it.

Long version (with spoilers, so beware!) )
Some of the zombie apocalypse fics I mentioned reading in my last post:

Good Thing At A Bad Time by scottmcniceass
Fandom: 1D | Pairing: Ziam | Summary: Zayn prefers to be on his own. It's easier to survive when you don't have to worry about anyone else. Liam leads a large group of people that have taken residence in an abandoned prison. When Zayn wakes up in a prison cell, all he can think about is finding a way out. Liam makes him want to stay.

Just Like Last Tuesday, Except With Zombies by angel-dawes
Fandom: Glee | Pairing: Puckerberry | Summary: Lima is infested with zombies, and McKinley High's glee club, along with guest judge Emma Pillsbury, hole up inside the school to combat the blood-thirsty hordes.

Miles to Go Before I Sleep by mothermedusa20
Fandom: Big Bang Theory | Pairing: Sheldon/Penny | Summary: Sheldon prepares for everything- zombies, restaurant closures, and power outages. He also plans for the apocalypse by packing survival kits for each of his friends, including a certain neighbor across the hall. When the unthinkable finally happens, Penny is separated from those who can help her most until she finds a series of letters from Sheldon in the compartments of her bag. Slowly, she realizes her genius neighbor knows more than he’s ever been given credit for and that there is more to their relationship than she ever thought possible.

Hm, that's all I have in my bookmarks. Weird, I could have sworn there was an SPN one but the apocalypse fics I have for that are demons, not zombies. Oh well. Happy reading! If anyone's got any to rec, please do so! I'm always looking out for new fics and I read tons of fandoms.
So I've been working on a zombie fic for the past couple of months and like, I'm having a lot of fun with it but I don't know how bad it is that I really don't have much background knowledge about it. On the one hand, I feel like everyone who writes a vampire story creates their own vampire lore - in some books, sunlight hurts/kills them but in others, it doesn't affect them; in some books, garlic affects them and in others, it doesn't. So why can't I create my own zombie lore, right? I hope that's how it'll come across to my readers, anyway.

I love supernatural stuff but usually it's vampires, werewolves, witches, and shifters. Not zombies. I don't think I've ever read a book about zombies, though I have read several zombie apocalypse fics which are usually from the perspective of humans fighting off zombies. The only zombie movie I've seen was the Will Smith one - what was it...oh, I Am Legend (thanks, IMDB) - and I couldn't watch half of it because the shaky hand-cam effects were making me nauseous. I also wanted to watch Walking Dead but same problem (what's with all the shaky effects in zombie movies/shows?). I've been meaning to watch World War Z but haven't gotten around to it yet. But yeah, I think that's it. And then one day, I decide I want to write a zombie fic. Where did that even come from? Lol.

And now, after 11,000 words (and it feels like I've been writing this forever, how in the world do people write novels???), I think I'm nearing the end except that I woke up this morning with an idea for a zombie apocalypse follow-up fic, set in my universe where basically zombie-ism is like a chronic condition that's managed by regular doses of brains. Ugh, what am I getting myself into?
