I was trying to get it down to under 5k but I only managed to cut ~100 words over 3 editing passes and then I gave up. It's just...a houseplant that has been planted in the yard.

The problem (saving grace?) is that I'm having trouble settling on a consistent worldbuilding schema and I can't write anymore in this universe until I've got that figured out.

This happened with my SW Pacific Rim AU too, which is how it has stayed a one-shot.
